Cashmere Agency worked with HBO to curate a live “Where Do You Exist?” podcast taping event in Portland, Los Angeles and New York (soon come!) to promote the upcoming series Here and Now.

PORTLAND RECAP

Held at Union/Pine, the event was attended by 80 guests comprised of various tastemakers throughout the Portland area. Some notable attendees included Andrea Hartman, influencer and blogger behind popular Oregon-based blog, Seasons and Salt; trans-rights activists and influencers, Biff Chaplow and Trystan Reese; Intisar Abioto, member and organizer of social justice group, Black Portlanders; and Cody Goldberg, a member of the diversity-focused playground initiative, Harper’s Playground. The event was also well attended by employees of notable Portland-based brands including Nike, Adidas, and Stumptown Coffee.

Guests were welcomed into a beautiful venue, designed to feel like the Boatwright’s family home, with subtle branded elements such as clocks which read the time 11:11; copies of H. Gregory Boatwright’s book, A Layperson’s Guide to the Here and Now; character quotes projected on various walls; stacks of books and eclectic art; a sociable Here and Now photobooth; and a custom-designed Here and Now mug that guests sipped on throughout the night that they were invited to take home.

LOS ANGELES RECAP

Held at SmogShoppe Los Angeles, the event was attended by 135 guests comprised of various influencers, press and tastemakers throughout the Los Angeles area. Some notable attendees included BET host and plus-size model and advocate, Chasity Saunders; model and LGBT influencer, Indar Smith; artist and founder/owner of Babylon Cartel clothing line, Gianni Lee; and vice president of Urban A&R for Republic Records, Nigil Mack, among others. In addition to the tastemakers and influencers, notable press attendees included radio personality and host on Real 92.3, DJ Hed; producers at Buzzfeed video, Ryann Graham and Eduardo Ubanell; culture writer and podcast host (Jezebel, VICE, NPR, etc.), Kara R. Brown;  founder and editor-in-chief of BallerStatus, Jay Casteel; and writer & video producer (Complex, MERRY JANE, Mental Floss, AfterEllen, etc.), Tara Aquino, among others.

As compared to the venue in Portland, SmogShoppe offered a much larger space for guests to mix and mingle, both indoors and outdoors. The lush outdoor area was adorned with floor-to-ceiling plants, feeling much like a secluded garden, while the indoor area offered a rustic and homey aesthetic, meant to feel much like the Boatwright’s family home. Similar to the event in Portland, the venue included subtle branded elements including clocks which read the time 11:11; copies of H.

Stay tuned for moments from our New York event, and make sure to catch Here & Now this Sunday, February 11th!
